I have come to understand that the fluoride added to US drinking water more and more being revealed as a brain damaging toxic substance. Are there any supplements that can protect against further damage and perhaps even help the brain recover from a lifetime of excessive fluoride intake?

I would do some blood work before being concerned.

Yes sodium fluoride which is added to the water usually at the rate of about 0.8 ppm is actually RAT POISON.

If you goto www.flouridation.org (.net?) you can read all the studies about its detrimental effects of this serious halide.

The one study in particular demonstrated that there is a build up of fluoride in the pineal gland, and it is damaging over time to the thyroid gland as well.

The secret to displacing it is to take lots of Iodine - which will slowly displace it over time.

Many people have had great success in halide reduction (Bromides, Fluorides, Chlorides) via Lugols Solution (5% Iodine by volume). They take up to 10 drops a day. Each drop is 6500 ug of Iodine, and they then sent their stool for analysis and noted LARGE increases in bromide, fluoride and chloride content in the stool.

Myself I only take 1 drop every 2 days, 1 drop is equal to 40 days worth of Iodine, taking 2 drops a day for me causes some fatigue.

www.curezone.org has a forum tracking it search their forum for Lugols Solution.

Lugols Solution is getting harder to get, I would consider buying a litre of it, and then sub-parting it into a small container with a dropper dispenser. 1 litre should last you a good 5 yrs, you need so little of it.

The average RDA for Iodine is 150 ug / day. However what is shocking is that most people are completely deficient in this crtical element. The Thyroid cannot MAKE ANY T3/T4 Hormone without Iodine supplementation. Your metabolism for the entire body is determined by the bioavailability of T3/T4.

The Japanese because of their rick kelp diets actually ingest up to 12,000 ug of Iodine daily. Remarkably they have the longest average lifespan (88 yrs) and the lowest rates of disease in the world. It should be noted that kelp ingestion is supplying MANY nutrients / minerals as well.

Spread the word, knowledge is power, and an informed citizen is a healthy, alert, and sharp one.

yeah or you can just buy a kelp salt substitute, which has the added benefit of increasing your potassium to sodium ratio. Like you said, the Japanese have a diet high in iodine, which comes from kelp. I think it foolish to think that iodine as an isolated nutrient could possibly have the same effect as the sum of all of the nutrients in kelp.

Yes, fluoride is an excitotoxin and can enter your brain (with the help of aluminum), and damage neurons and brain cells. There is a lot you can do to block and reverse it's toxic effects.

Some supplements include calcium, magnesium, iodine & antioxidants - blueberries are especially helpful.
I have tons of info and research on my blog regarding fluoride. I had multiple chronic fluoride symptoms & fianlly recoved from them once I realized what my issue was (see my profile).

Just stop drinking fluoridated water, and carry on with your regular diet. I am sure we are all consuming too much sodium as it is, most of which being from iodized salt, so over time that ought to help fix things. Too much iodine and you are just going to get acne smile.gif
