According to the research of some folks at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Cryptococcus neoformans is converting radiation into fuel. This could mean that fungus is the solution to two of our greatest environmental problems, lack of fuel and too much radioactive waste.

If mushrooms can convert radiation into fuel, we could potentially harvest two forms of energy: nuclear and bio-fuel.

This seems like a great way to produce "clean" energy! We could harvest the energy created by nuclear power, and create even more energy using mushrooms to "eat" nuclear waste. It's a win-win situation, right?

Now that is something....
I recently saw a blurb where pool chemicals were replaced with moss in the filter system to remove bacteria and to keep the water clear.
Obviously there are better ways to live and be creative than to become dependent on chemicals.

My gratitude to Paul Stamets.

Unfortunately, the Authorities would probably much rather use the nuclear waste to make bombs.
