GOD IS FEAR Options

How many of you have seen the car stickers "Fear God". I believe that these people have got it around the wrong way. How could something that has no matter, no touch, no voice and no sight be something to fear. Fear of the unknown is the only answer I could give. The majority of people on this planet are interested in knowing what will happen to them when they die. What happens to the spirit and the soul? And of memory and intelligence? Nobody really knows. The evidence is still very much inconclusive.

The unknown is a mighty big chasm to explain. If you have strong beliefs in something and this belief then empowers you to find vulnerable people who want to follow, but not lead. The empowerment of these people means you could make them believe anything. The manipulation of the mind by brainwashing and hysteria are very powerful tools indeed.

Over the centuries Religion has been able to permeate itself in every part of our lives. The culture, the customs, the laws, the rituals, the politics and many other aspects of life in general. Making it almost impossible to disentangle religion from other aspects of life.

In this day and age of the big dollar ministries and suicide bombers, empowerment is playing an important part in putting the fear of God into the so called "believers". God is only a pretense for fear. Fundamentalists are regurgitating obscure aspects of the Bible to justify why people should fear God.

The real God here is really Science. Science can be measured, touched, seen and heard. It can be questioned over and over and defined ad finitum. Science through knowledge can help dispel these fears. Knowledge is also a powerful tool and a much more positive tool than spreading fear negatively throughout the world via myths, legends and made up clap-trap by some power hungry zealot.

Karl Marx said "Religion is the opium of the masses." No truer words have ever been spoken.
