God/Religion a creation of the powerfull human mind ?/! Options

This is a forum about the human brain so I think i'm at the right place to suggest to start a topic about this.

One of CERN 'primairy' goal is to 'imitate' what happend when the big bang took place. If the CERN scientists can proof that the big bang really took place then (for me) it is another proof that there really is no god.

The term God has been overused for far too long. Its a concept that 'something' started it all. That something is a first cause, this is impossible to determine from any experiment, huge or not. Don't you ever wonder what started the Universe expanding? Why things are spinning? Why the Galaxies are going round the centre of the Universe? Why Solar Systems are going around Galaxies? Why planets are going round Stars? Why evolution has occurred from apparent inert matter? Why you completely lose yourself in an emotion called Love which is a built in propogation mechanism of all life?

When you stop and ask yourself your own personal questions, whatever they may be, there you'll find the root of religion. Its not that you're 'too clever' for religion, its just you seem against the concept on principal (like many and like I used to be).

Scientists are trying to determine new particles and attain the velocities and circumstances they think were around the 'Big Bang'. Its an amazingly crude way to try and gain some insight into an impossible to test theory.

So what if they manage to create a mini Big Bang? That doesn't answer the issue of first cause, unless you want to put scientists in the place of God. There will always be a question of WHY did everything start.

If you replace the singularity from before the Big Bang - which is required to contain everything in the Universe - with the Garden of Eden (a place where we were with God) - then the Big Bang is the expulsion from this garden!

Let's be honest the first thing religious (muslim, christian or jew) people learn is that god created the earth in six days.

What people need to learn to do is to take unbelievable stories and instead of throwing them out, consider them as metaphors or spiritual imagery. The 'days' may have been ancient recorded epochs, or completely irrelevant. 'Day' makes no sense when there was no sun or solar system (if taken literally). You need a single planet, star and orbit before you get a 'day'.

You really need to dig deeper and ask your own philosophical questions, to finally arrive at what the religions are banging on about.

If science and religion go hand in hand, isn't it time to change 'gods holy books' with scientific facts?

I believe in doing this you'd simply be reiterating the science books but with a special first chapter reading 'God started it all off'. It is something I believe should be looked at, combining humanities shared spiritualism. Unfortunately the topic polarises people like no other, and whats important to one person, is irrelevant to another.

I take my spirituality from the ideas behind the yin-yang and from what I know about nature and its use of mathematics. I then apply those ideas to different layers of our material world (biology, physics, chemistry, micro/macrocosm, culture, language) and what I get is my own personal philosophy. But what I subscribe to is science, and a fractal Universe thats as deep and as big as you want to get. Truly Infinite, and probably paradoxically created by itself.

That's a fascinating way of looking at it. Expulsion, not creation.
