I don't normally recommend movies, but this is one of the best films I've ever seen. The first time I saw it, I didn't really like it because it was confusing, but afterwards, I couldn't get the movie out of my mind, and so I read some of the interpretations about it online, and then rewatched it. The second time was the charm. Definitely worth renting on DVD. Remember too, that the director, Darren Afonofsky, also directed 'PI' and 'Requiem for a Dream', and he considered these movies to be only stepping stones for his masterpiece, which he considered to be 'The Fountain'. Also to be commended, besides the pathos of the acting and the story, is the musical score (Kronos string quartet), and the stunning visuals.
