Alright, firstly, a little background info...

I'm 20, and going to school for a B.A. in Chemistry. About a year ago I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorder, and prescribed bupropion (welbutrin). At the time, I was just becoming interested in nootropics and was taking ginko, ginseng, a multivitamin, 5-HTP, and CoQ10. However, under advisement from my psychiatrist, I stopped taking the ginko and eventually everything else (apparently ginko increases the likelihood of seizures when taken with bupropion).

I'm now in the process of tapering off the bupropion, as my depression and anxiety have been severely improved. So, since I'm going to be off that, I'd like to start stacking again, with the primary goals of: managing my depression and anxiety, and increasing memory and general cognitive function. With these goals and my budget in mind, I've developed the following stack...

Acetyl-L-Carnitine 500mg once daily
Inositol Hexaphosphate 500mg once daily
Vinpocetine 10mg twice daily
Huperzine A 50mcg once daily
Ginko Biloba 60mg twice daily
Siberian Ginsing 60mg twice daily
5-HTP 100mg twice daily
Multivitamin once daily

I'm also considering adding phenylalanine and CoQ10, I'm somewhat reluctant because both are quite expensive (and I've already invested almost $100 for a two month supply of the aforementioned chemicals).

So, any comments or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Based on your goals and your planned "stack" I would suggest the following:

L-Huperzine A 100 mcg
Vincamine or Vinpocetine 20 mg
5-HTP 100-200 mg
Inositol 12-18 Grams
Acetyl-L-Carnitine 750-1,500 mg
L-Theanine 200-500 mg
An excellent Multivitamin and Mineral formula

I don't believe you need CoQ10 at your age.

I rarely make typos and yes that is the clinically effective dose for treating depression.

Well, that quantity is simply too much, both physically and economically. However, I will increase my inositol intake to as much as my budget will allow, thanks for your input.

$6.75* is too much? Physically you may need a higher dose than the RDA provides considering your depression and clinically that is the dose that is effective.

*Inositol 300 Grams

I know inositol is supposed to have all sorts of effects. I tried 12gm a day for several weeks and couldn't notice any difference. I reacted strongly to alcar and found it stimulating. Your milage may vary.
