QUOTE(Hey Hey @ Aug 13, 08:14 PM) *

That being said, I find it interesting that Ancient Egyptian medicine focused on the heart as being the "giver of life" so to speak...

I find it very interesting that they felt that the heart (rather than the brain) was the center of human wisdom...

I've wondered about it ever since I saw the special on the History channel...I think that perhaps it is as a result of them living a more physically active lifestyle. I think someone like that (an athlete, for example) would be very in tune with their body. They would know that something is up when their heart starts acting up.

We (on the other hand) live a more dormant lifestyle...We think alot...don't do much...so the organ we use the most is our brain. As a result, the diseases that effect out society have more to do with the brain...(depression, anxiety, etc...) We know something is up when we start getting headaches, dizziness, etc...We conserve a lot of our physical energy (resulting in obesity, etc.) and use it all to think all the time....
