I have read threads here over differences between the consciousness and techno singularities, and that's all fine and good but the techno singularity was spawned due to recent techno developments whereas the consciousness singularity has a less clear beginning since consciousness has been around for much longer. So my question is, what have people of the past said along the lines of the consciousness singularity besides the one essay I came across on this site? Do the ancient Hindus say anything along the lines of a consciousness singularity? Does Tielhard de Chardin's Omega Point have any relevance? |

Bucke wrote about Jesus and Buddha having "cosmic conscousness" but I don't think he wrote about any future singularity in consciousness

Without any prove to speak of (remember, the Libraby of Alexandria which contained thousands upon thousands of ancient manuscripts all dedicated to science and knoledge was burned to the ground by the egyptians under heavy pressure from the Roman Catholic Elite) I dare to speculate the the ancients knew more about this event than we dare to imagine. Who knows what knowledge (such as the fact that the earth was round) went up in smoke as civilization was sent backwards on a talespin by the corrupt and despicable criminal few that concockted this movement that we now know as 'Christianity'? They made good use of their seemingly limitless power and kept us all in darkness for 15 centuries; depriving us of whichever scientific knowledge they deemed herecy. Preserving only that knowkedge which they deemed adecuate for their mass subjugation agenda. Same here in the Americas, as they destroyed with fire any knowledge the Incas and Mayas and others had accumulated over centuries; in the name of god. That's been the Christian legacy to humanity from the time of its evil beginings. |

Wouldn't the after-life preached by many religions be considered a precursor to the CS? And if it does, wouldn't that have some more serious implications than it would appear at first sight? |
