To those who try anonymous proxy software, I recommend using an external 'what is my IP' checker to make sure of your anonymity!
I have tried most such software, which shows me an anonymous IP is being provided, but when I use http://www.whatismyip.com/ my true static IP is always quoted! |

how dare these schools set up firewalls! It's not like kids don't learn a lot online and spend all their time on MySpace. It totally violates a kids constitutional right to the internet in school, uhh, right?

I am at school too. I have been using multiple proxies throughout the year and just yesterday about five of them were blocked. The ones i am about to give you are not very high quality, but they work at my school. Here they are: proxsee.info iproxi.info |

Hey guys. The babelfish and other translators worked for a little while, but then they blocked that, too. Any proxy with the letters P R O X in it's name are blocked. The only one that works is some facebook site or some crap like that but it doesnt do myspace, only backwater sites. Now, I've looked over many forums and I've tried all of your suggestions above but it wont work. Any Ideas? Do school work at school, and wait 2 hrs to get home to go on myspace--school really isn't that bad...The only other alternative I can come up with~ try w w w . d o n t f i l t e r . c o m or w w w . i p o d . com . s e a r c h and s t u d y . c o m it wont let me post urls yet lol |

Try "Proxy Finder", it will leech 3000 fresh proxy servers in 10 seconds.

Nope. None of them work. The school is ahead of the game so to speak. It's just so annoying because if you need something, then you can hardly get it!! |

Did you try installing FireFox? Most programs dont bother to block FireFox, even though they have a 10% market share.

Many schools use WebSense to block internet content. To bypass, try these proxies: http://Alienproxy.com https://proxify.com |

OK so the New South Wales Department of Education has decided to put a block on every website, even educational websites. Google images is blocked for juniours, so they have no access to images. An example, late last year for physical education, we had to research drugs and atleast 60% of the websites were blocked as they were considered to be "inappropriate". Peers and I have been trying for the past months to find the best Proxy website because there is no other way around it. One day we will find a proxy website, the next day we will try to access it and it well be blocked. We started to delete the cookies to avoid the schools discovering these proxys, yet still they are blocking every website they come across. I have tried every single website linked here, none of the above work. Our system has bascially been shutdown, what is the use of having computers at school?
Is there ANY way around it? |

I have tried every single website linked here, none of the above work. Our system has bascially been shutdown, what is the use of having computers at school? Is there ANY way around it? Depends on what sort of skills you have... There are ways to accomplishing anything, it just depends on how far you want to go. Schools and the majority of integrated systems have rather cookie cutter programs that are used to control and monitor internet activities. Because of this simple but effective approach, a loophole in one system can be found in another system. This is for two reasons, #1 modern computer security design policy is all the same, #2 They all use the same or similar programs. However, although the IT administators may be as dumb as wood the program itself can be fairly intelligent. So if say one person found a loophole in a school internet administration program, you could very well find the same loophole in your own schools administration system. So if you were to say, search for loopholes in internet filtration programs, you would be off to a good start, comprehende? Okay, so lets say that this mean ol program keeps blocking your nice proxies hmm? What you need to do is find out the protocol for safe listed sites. Once you know how a program determines a safe site you can either find a proxy to meet these specifications or build your own. This can be done by either finding which program your school uses and then finding the tech specs on it or by trial and error. I guarentee you IT administrators cannot watch over every site you visit, so instead a program will have a set list of things it checks for. Just make sure your proxy doesnt have any of those things and your set. Also, one of the 'bad' words for that program is probably proxy itself. Find some sites that are safelisted, copy and paste their content and sneakily get your proxy. These programs just work off a list of sorts and once you know whats on that list, its pretty easy. |

Didn't anyone notice that school is for indoctrination? So, take your indoctrination like a man/woman and look forward to a post-school period when you can do your own thing (sort of). For the time-being, you have to find other ways to access information outside of the mainstream and not use the taxpayer's indoctrination facilities for porn, cracks and serials.
And stop flaming on this Forum as it demonstrates only immaturity and simplemindedness and will be deleted as soon as it is spotted. We welcome sensible comments though and are not averse to hearing different points of view. |

Ah so true, schools purpose is indeed for creating the next set of people to join the workforce and work happily for minimum wage. Alas, I believe a famous religious wingnut said, give me a child till hes seven and il make him a believer for life.
Give the government a child for 12 years and they make him/her a worker for life. |
