Transcendental Sonnet #1365:
The Hard Way

There are some mistakes we make
Which cannot be unmade
I am sorry for your sake
Too late I am afraid
To undo what you have done

Life goes on and is begun
Each day as on the first
It does not sit and wait
For the best nor for the worst
Nor for those who hesitate

"Fool me once shame on you
Fool me twice shame on me"
The old saying is still true
And it never mentions three
