IN THE ARMS OF A FRIEND

I pray for the sunshine to caress your cheek
Ascending to heaven where it reaches its peak.
Receiving the blessing of a brand new day
Embracing our gift in the simplest way.

Illuminating a heart with the light from its glow
Erupting with beauty and a passionate flow.
A river of fire and hot burning coals,
Spring from your well and threaten my toes.

A connection is made that cannot be broken.
Forged by the heat and the steely words spoken.
Elements bonded by the smoldering embers.
Wonderful moments as friendship remembers.

Spirits entwined playing cosmic tag
Raising each other like the pole lifts the flag.
Heightened experience with senses fine tuned.
Unbridled emotion with no need to be pruned.

Growing more sturdy as the roots take ahold.
Foundations are solid, formations are bold.
Unburdened from fears with the rays on your face.
It's a message from Him to get back in the race.

There's so much to do with your time on this earth.
How can you measure what each moment's worth?
Each grain of sand in the hour glass.
Determines the grade, if we fail or we pass.

Blustery winds, and silica scatters.
Gather them up, because every one matters.
A fool with his time will regret in the end.
So take me dear Lord in the arms of a friend.
