you are in dependence of other parties? jk, all sides are a joke. I don't know what an independent is supposed to be though...

Well, this time around it means that I didn't vote, so I won't bitch if the new president stinks.

Optimism does not today change. Today is suffering for many. Today is death for many. Let's not forget that. And watch out, who knows what Obama will bring? I have hope, but I am still pessimistic. Just look at the evidence. Blair was a white Obama to many in the UK and he took us to war. He sold much of what we had. He cut and ran after his term, as still youngish person. Just watch out. Can you trust ANY politician?

Anyway, have a nice day (I mean it actually; I'm not a politician so you can trust me).

Thank you!!! About time somebody makes some sense out of all this bliss and bring us back to reality. Obama is jus a politician, and as such, a liar and everything else negative that comes with the label. The good-will gesture towards his election from almost everyone on the face of the planet is refreshing and welcomed. But, it'll be business as usual first thing in the morning tomorrow.

Time will tell if your cynicism is justified. To claim it will be "business as usual" implies that you still don't get it about the past regime (about how truly evil they were, that is). Shall we evaluate in 100 days?

biggrin.gif Gosh, I'm feeling my age. I don't even get 'front passenger side'. And here's me thinking that you and I might have a chance, but obviously different generations (only kidding!). As Zebedee said, "Time for bed!"

Farewell for now, my valued friend.

The expression comes from defending against stage coach robberies after the gold rush in California. "Riding shotgun" means riding up front with the driver (holding the weapon just in case).

At least a hell of a lot better than palin in power...I have faith in obama, but only time will tell as with anybody who I can't interact with personally, or review a (without a doubt) truthful replay of choices. I'm drawn to his intellect, and his values seem aligned with a positive majority of my beliefs so far.

I would never leave out the possibility that some never before seen personal interest will take over the Obama that many of the people claim to know today.

Was there a change in global consciousness made today? Has that paradigm shift started?

Yes. Definitely. The pendulum swings back where it belongs. Let's damp it and tie it off when it returns.
