TREAD

Like torture,
We’re so close,
And yet so far,
Self created taboo,
This decision wholly you,
And my sleepless eyes ponder,
Your sleeping face,
So many worlds away,
Just through this door,
I could step and be with you,
But I sit; I wait, just as you asked,
I don’t tread, as I know I should,
Quietly to your bed,
Slipping in next to you,
And finally resting my head.

Hi Manders!

Good to see you back with us again; I have missed you. I'm sorry I don't reply better to poems; it seems like I am always writing one of my own, or else laid so low by depression that I'm not much good for anything. Tonight it's that I'm hard at work on a new poem of my own on what poetry means to me (everything, actually, as you might imagine).

I just wanted to tell you I think this poem of yours is very skillfully and elegantly constructed, and that graceful structure carries the content beautifully. It's a very effective poem; I enjoyed reading it, and I thank you very much for being a part of us and for sharing it with us here.

I hope your summer is going well. Lots of camping adventures? I've certainly been thinking about global warming a lot this summer!

Respect and solidarity, dear friend and fellow poet, always.

Love,

+Stevie

Thank you Steven! I know I haven't been on the board much, but I've run kind of dry. I simply happened to be inspired last night. Hope all is well with you.
